Place non-hazardous solid waste in commercial containers, including:
- Carpet
- Construction and demolition waste (small amounts)
- Dirt, rock, brick or dry concrete ((20 cubic yard boxes only and no more than half full - approximately 1.5 tons per square yard)
- Empty drums or barrels (with ends cut out or cut in half)
- Food waste
- General office trash
- Metal, general appliances, furniture
- Paint cans (completely dry with lids removed)
- Roofing materials (no more than three-fourths full)
- Shrink Wrap
- Wood, landscaping debris, construction debris
PROHIBITED MATERIALS
- Appliances
- Foam Products
- Hazardous Waste (radioactive, reactive, toxic, ignitable, corrosive, pathological, acidic, etc.). For disposal options, call the Dallas County Home Chemical Collection Center at 214-553-1765
- Items requiring special handling such as motor oil, batteries, wet concrete and items containing Freon
- Liquid Waste
- Tires
- Whole Drums or Barrels
Recycling Guidelines
- Cardboard
- Single stream recycling (all recycling goes in one container)
- Aluminum, steel, and tin cans
- Glass bottles and jars (no dishes, mirrors, leaded glass)
- Office paper, including magazines, newspaper, junk mail, telephone books, cardboard
- Plastics Number 1 through Number 7 (no Styrofoam)
