NOTE: DISTRICT 3 TOWN HALL MEETING POSTPONED
Due to the recent increase in COVID cases and a non-COVID family health issue, District 3 Council Member Jerry Nickerson is postponing his Nov. 19 Town Hall meeting. When a new date is identified, it will be posted to the City’s website and announced in Garland City Press Briefs.
My Possibilities, which was scheduled to present an update on their residential development project in District 3, will provide a presentation that will be posted next week to the City’s Facebook, Twitter pages and post on NextDoor.
Jerry Nickerson, Mayor Pro Tem and City Council District 3, was elected to his first term on June 10, 2017.
Jerry directs all engineering, operations, planning and construction for Parkland Hospital and Health System in Dallas County. He led the program management team that recently completed the $1.36 billion, 3.2 million-square-foot New Parkland Hospital campus.
He is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and speaks at industry conferences about program management, quality and risk management processes.
Jerry has held senior management and engineering positions with industry leaders in facility engineering design, construction and program management.
During a span of 40 years, Jerry has been responsible for the design, commissioning and construction of more than $4 billion in new construction, including projects for governmental, institutional and health care facilities both domestic and international.
Jerry holds two Bachelor of Science degrees from Texas A&M University in environmental geography and civil engineering, and has been a registered professional engineer in Texas for more than 30 years.
Jerry is interested in bringing economic redevelopment to south Garland with specific focus on Broadway, the I-30 corridor and the shoreline of Lake Ray Hubbard. He believes cultural diversity and geographic proximity to Dallas make Garland a special place with great opportunity.
