Gangs and Gang Graffiti

Gang investigations are conducted by Neighborhood Police Officers (NPO's) with a goal of reducing street level gang crimes.

Gang Graffiti

Gang graffiti is intended to notify rival gangs of turf boundaries and the intentions of the gang’s membership toward rivals.  Gang officers are educated in the unique language of graffiti and interpret the messages for information on gang activity.

It is important that gang graffiti be removed or painted over as soon as possible to avoid retaliatory graffiti that can lead to violence.  It is the responsibility of the property owner to remove graffiti.  For graffiti removal from public or private property, contact City of Garland Code Enforcement at 972-485-6400.
