As of March 6:
Total Cases - 26,577
10.9% of Garland population - 242,914
684 (2.6%*) active cases
25,557 (96.1%*) recovered
336 deaths** (1.3%*)

**The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) reported 78 additional COVID-19 related deaths of Garland residents. These deaths were uncovered after a DSHS fatality audit for 2020 and were unreported to Dallas County or the City of Garland on a monthly basis dating back to April 2020.

COVID-19 is a particularly serious threat to nursing homes and other long term care facilities. Local and state health officials continue to monitor such facilities and offer guidance and resources. Updates about specific Garland facilities will be posted as needed.
